Company description
The firm Otto Rüegg AG is a small Swiss business, a so-called SME ( Small and Medium-sized Enterprise). This enterprise is a pure supplier — i.e. we do not have any of our own products with which we go on the market, but offer our service, which would be: Machining production of precision parts made of plastic.
Machining means: turning, milling and drilling.
For 40 years we have exclusively machined plastics. We process all plastics – which are available as semi-finished products (plates/disks, rods and conduits) – into ready-to-install machine and instrument parts.
Materials such as Pa 6, Pa 6.6, Pa 12, POM, PVC, PET, PE, PTFE, PMMA, ABS, PC and PP are everyday terms for our staff. But in our case we also deal quite gladly with high-tech or high-performance plastics such as PEEK, PCTFE, PSU, PEI and PI.
How are these materials machined?
Materials are machined on modern, CNC-controlled machining centres, with special cutting tools and devices — and above all with specific skills and through the know-how of our staff gained through many years of experience.
You should really leave the machining of plastics to a specialist!
According to which specifications do we produce?
We produce according to drawing, prototype or CAD data.
In which dimensions or quantities is the Otto Rüegg AG offer available?
Our offer extends to turning pieces (DRM 1.0 mm to DRM 200 mm) as well as milling and drilling pieces the size of a match head (up to 400 x 400 x 300 mm). And so we are rather at home in the realm of small & fine mechanics, occasionally even in micromechanics.
As far as quantities are concerned, we are certainly not a bulk commodity manufacturer. Prototypes, pilot runs and series up to 5,000 pieces comprise 95 % of our offer, in which case we would rather supply 50 parts at 100 Swiss francs each than 5,000 pieces at 1 Swiss franc each!
Then what are the preferred industrial sectors of the Otto Rüegg AG?
Of course we supply customers from all industrial sectors. But over the course of years we have determined that we are particularly successful and in demand amongst manufacturers of chemical & laboratory devices, medical equipment and companies from the semiconductor industry.
A few examples:
Coupling pieces for micromotors made of PEEK
Pump parts made of PTFE
Wafer carrier for wafer handling
Structural components made of PEEK for chip assembly and chip automatons
Needle holder for laboratory automaton made of POM
Dispensing head for laboratory automaton made of PET
Washing station for laboratory automaton made of PC
Prototype of a drilling machine for hand surgery
Sterilisation receptacle for an eye operation device made of PTFE
Microscope holder for a shock wave therapy device made of PET
Centring plate for a vacuum valve made of Pa6.6/GF
Why choose the Otto Rüegg AG for plastic components?
...because we are absolute the specialists for the machining of plastics — we do nothing else, but we work professionally and skilfully!
...because a more flexible, uncomplicated small enterprise (e.g. customer designers) communicates directly with a supplier’s mechanics!
...because solely experts are at work on the most modern machines!
...because evaluations of suppliers prove that the Otto Rüegg AG receives the best ratings in terms of quality and delivery reliability, and thus guarantees an outstanding value for money!
...because renowned firms at home and abroad know where they procure their exacting plastic components!
This is why you should also make an attempt. Test us with an inquiry — per fax, post, or e-mail!
