In 1996, Wolfgang Humml and Hannes Hämmerle their company, which they rename 1to1 prototypes in 2002. At the beginning are a plant area of 250 square meters, two employees and two vacuum casting. Today, around 120 skilled workers earn (with it is an apprentice share of over 20 percent) sales of more than 12 million euros. Total is working including the recently newly occupied premises to 5,500 square feet of space.

1to1 prototypes one of Europe's leading providers of rapid prototyping. The focus always is on "rapid", ie extremely short-term implementation of projects. For customers such as Playmobil, MTU Aero Engines and Roche Diagnostics, the company created models and small batches in plastic and metal. So far, the silicone molds after 30 to 35 parts were absolutely "exhausted".
