AFMI Verspanende Industrie is an independent company that came into being as the result of a merger of several firms, including: the tool-making department of Stork Mufac; the mechanical department of Stork Pumps Hengelo; the mechanical department of Stork Services.

In 2000, these firms were relocated to premises in Lansinkesweg, Hengelo. Thanks to this merger and the purchase of a number of large machines, AFMI dramatically increased its know-how in the field of mechanical treatment and assembly of industrial components.
