The Mechanical workshop Wunderlich GmbH was founded in 1985.
The focus of the company are in the areas of CNC metal processing, welding, punching, bending and forming.
In 2008 the company was taken over by the current managing director Jürgen Flaig and - with the aim to achieve further specialization Grade - modernized rapidly. The production capacity of the company, the technical equipment and the demands on qualified employees grew steadily since then - step by step, year after year. Today one finds a modern manufacturing facility in the industrial area of Selb, only 2km away from the driveway to the A93.
Our customers are located in very different industries and find us versatile and competent contact for metalworking. We are able to manufacture a very wide range of products able, ranging from one-off prototypes or replacement parts to high volume series production.
We are particularly strong in the milling of large components on envelope, within the tolerance range of + / - 0.001. So workpieces of up to 4.000kg are workable on our horizontal milling machine.
By now, we are in a position on our state of the art fully automatic circular saw for aluminum profiles of all types and solid material to cut highly accurate and reliable process and edit.
Some technical details:
• CNC-controlled machining of turned parts up to a diameter of 920mm and a length von1.050mm axially and radially driven tools offer the possibility of finishing in a single setup.
• Conventional turning complex parts up to a diameter of 1.020mm and a length of 3,000 mm.
• CNC-controlled processing of milled parts: a 40-tool magazine and reduction of non-productive time allowed an enormous rapid traverse rate, input power 40kw and spindle taper SK50 size.
• Conventional milling of complex parts or small series.
• CNC-controlled machining of large milling parts: 5-axis horizontal milling machine, machining of workpieces of up to 4.000kg in a single setup, tolerance + / - 0.001 mm, spindle power 63kW, pulling force of 2,000 kg axles, spindle taper SK50.
• Pull grooves or grooves evacuate to a hub length of 350mm and a groove width of 42mm.
• PLC controlled sawing aluminum: our state of the art fully automatic circular saw for aluminum combines the speed and cycle times of common pneumatic saws with the precision and accuracy of cut of a hydraulic system. Continuously variable speed, 15kw drive for stable average values even with aluminum solid material up to 115mm.
• Mechanical eccentric presses up to 250 tons and hydraulic presses also to 250t, which are suitable for a muted die cushion also for deep drawing.
• Various welding jobs for steel, stainless steel and aluminum for TIG and MAG.

Deep-drawing is a part of Sheet metal processing and the most important forming method for the production of sheet metal parts. According to the definition of DIN 8584, it is tensile compressive forming and the processing is carried out by simultaneous tensile and compressive stress in different operating directions. The drawing method most commonly used is deep-drawing with rigid tools from tool making. The tools consist of a punch, a die and a sheet holder. The sheet metal blank is fixed by the sheet holder and during immersion the stamp spans the sheet in the board across the die radius, pressing it into the die (also called drawing ring). In doing so, the required punch force constantly increases until the dead-centre position is reached. The edges of the punch and the die are rounded, otherwise the sheet might tear. If the roundings are too large, the sheet at the end of the draw can no longer be fixed by the downholder, which may lead to wrinkling. If the draw depth is not reached in a single step, the draw is executed in several steps, especially in case of thick sheet metals.
