since 15 years we are specialized in the manufacturing of CNC turned parts up to a dimension of rd430 mm and max. 900 mm turning length.
Through our quality and reliability as well as ongoing investments in our machinery we have in the commercial vehicle sector, in the area of high pressure valves, proven in well-known manufacturers of pumps, but also in pavers of home sporting goods as a competent supplier and partner. In 2008 alone, we have a new profile rolling machine (PEE WEE UPW24) and a twin-spindle BTA deep hole drilling machine purchased an existing Mori Seiki ZL250 linked to a rice RVL 16-30 gantry robot and the EMAG VL group extended by two DIP-area storage tables. Our CNC turning centers provide cost-machining of workpieces with large chip volume and high precision requirements. Ready-made items are delivered through collaboration with qualified service providers such as hardening shops and surface finishers.

For over 40 years, we have been manufacturing adapters for “end of line” test benches, high-voltage contacts (HV), complete systems, test cable harnesses, etc. Our customers include almost all well-known automotive and truck manufacturers worldwide as well as their strategic suppliers. From manually locked test benches to fully automated test benches for EOL testing, our adapters and our patented technology for tolerance compensation for small miniature test plugs can be used for testing processes up to millions of times. From consulting and feasibility research to 3D design, 3D prototyping and individual and medium-sized series production, we offer our customers concentrated experience and expertise.

Thies Metall- und Fahrzeugbau GmbH is your competent and reliable partner in metal construction. For more than 30 years we produce and deliver a variety of metal products from our headquarters in Neuenkirchen. In doing so, we work to the latest standards and continue to train ourselves regularly and expand our competencies.

Since April 2017, Thies Metall- und Fahrzeugbau GmbH has been managed by Pascal and Timo Wüller, who took over the company from Alfred Thies. We will continue to work on our range of services in the future to ensure the best possible production and delivery process

MOLD MAKING
In mold making, our focus is on complex mold making projects for special product groups, primarily for the electronics industry. Our core competencies include the production of premium injection molding tools for connectors and complex small parts.

We offer everything from a single source and support our customers throughout the process, from the idea to the finished product — and beyond. Because we also carry out maintenance and modification work quickly and reliably — even on other forms, if necessary.

INJECTION MOLDING
We ensure that good ideas also become good products. Small and large parts from theory can be produced in a wide variety of shapes, colors and material properties during injection molding. Anything is possible here. With our injection molding experts in Irig (SRB) and our partner network, we also offer solutions for particularly complex or tricky shapes and are therefore able to meet every customer requirement.
With our injection molding machines from 25 t to 450 t, we are ready for any task.

Our system services for you are completed by offering the complete assembly of all plastic parts manufactured by us as well as any necessary purchased parts. This allows you to make full use of the added value that we provide you with through our cooperation across the entire value chain. From idea to assembly and timely delivery, we are therefore your reliable partner.

We not only provide you with injection-molded parts, we also assemble complete components for you from several plastic and supplier parts, then pack and deliver them to you in their entirety. It makes no difference whether you provide us with the necessary functional parts or whether we buy them according to your specifications. In the end, you will have a ready-to-install and functional module at your disposal.

CABLE ASSEMBLY
We have an in-house department for cable assembly. To ensure a high-quality and reliable product, we use materials from renowned global manufacturers such as ConexCon, Conectronics GmbH, Molex, JST, TE Connectivity, Amphenol and many others; conductors in accordance with VDE and UL standards. We also have a wide range of tools for the manual and mechanical crimping of various wire ends, core and cable cutting machines, as well as devices for checking finished cables. Each finished cable goes through detailed quality control, so we can guarantee that you get the best quality and a long-lasting product.



SMD PICK & PLACE
In our electronics department, we are able to assemble specific circuit boards for our customers in order to round off the process chain of our range of services. In this case too, we offer a complete service, from development to the tested electronics that customers need for their products.

We develop and manufacture components both in series and in individual quantities, thereby creating an alternative to existing manufacturing processes. Through highly qualified design know-how and a state-of-the-art machine park, we create products that would not be feasible with well-known manufacturing processes.

History

In 1951, Ernst and pink Thoma a mechanical workshop in Ruthi (in St. Gallen Rhine Valley) to perform inspections and repairs of machinery and equipment.

In 1983, his son Kurt Thoma is a competent successor of Ernst Thoma. With it, the new wave of innovation came with the CNC machines in motion.

2009 true a landmark year. Despite the crisis, Kurt Thoma bought the Glessmannareal in the village of Ruthi in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley in order to increase its production area.

The history of the company began in 1970 in Gerhard Ernst's basement with a lathe. After a few years, demand grew and the portfolio was expanded to include milling and grinding. The first hall was built in Harsum in 1983.

In 1993 the business was handed over to the next generation and Thomas Ernst GmbH was founded. In the years that followed, the company was modernized by adding several CNC machines to its production. During this time, we primarily invested in grinding machines, but also in wire and die-sinking EDM.

In 1996 a new, larger hall was built by Thomas Ernst, in which we still operate today. Over the next few years, grinding became the company's hobby. Thanks to many years of experience in various sectors such as the food industry, the automotive industry or the aviation industry, we are up to any task.

The company is now in the transition to the third generation. By working with modern machines and CAD/CAM software, we can manufacture effectively. In addition to individual parts and series production, we also offer the manufacture of complete tools and devices.
