The Montanstahl Germany GmbH is a subsidiary of Montanstahl SA (Switzerland), which is responsible for the distribution of special profiles. Our offer consists of a globally unique variety of special manufacturing technologies - enable the production of very specific special steel profiles - alone or in combination. Setting aside of standard geometries made of stainless steel, which are produced at the factory for trade, it is precisely tailored to the needs of the customer virtually every sold by us profile. For this reason, there is no catalog of available profile geometries. This booklet discusses the technologies and their current performance limits offered by us. We want the following pages show our greatly expanded technical possibilities and encourage our customers to fully exploit this to address optimally to the required tasks.

Laser welded profiles
Tailor-strip material from construction or stainless steel is welded with the laser beam to a profile.

DAVEX roll attached profiles
Tailor-strip material from construction or stainless steel is linearly combined force-and form-fitting cold to a profile.

Hot rolled profiles
Wire from construction or stainless steel is hot formed at a special profile.

Cold rolled profiles
Wire from construction or stainless steel is cold worked to a special profile.

Cold drawn steel profiles
Hot rolled profiles are taken through a matrix exactly in shape.

HISTORY OF MONTAVAR metalna nova d.o.o.

As MONTAVAR d.o.o., the company MONTAVAR METALNA NOVA d.o.o. was incorporated in the year of 1993. It operated as a minor independent company whose chief activity was metal processing production and assembly of steel structures.

In 1999, following the bankruptcy of Metalna ECCE d.d. whose tradition originates in 1920's, the company leased the business premises, workshops, machinery and equipment of the former enterprise, hiring experts and quality workers with years of experience in the field of erecting, manufacturing and welding.

MONTAVAR metalna nova d.o.o. has recognized and seized its market opportunities, opening daughter companies in Italy, Germany, Spain, Iceland, Serbia, Monte Negro and Croatia. Thus it became more competitive on foreign markets of Central and Western Europe. Simultaneously with its expansion abroad, the need emerged to increase production capacities: for this reason, the company made the decision to acquire the Ptuj based company FI&BU.

In 2003, all previously leased premises of the bankrupt company Metalna ECCE were purchased. At that time, the company Metalna nova was also purchased as well, and then merged with the parent company in May 2003. The entire archive was purchased as well - the technical documentation of the Metalna company, dating back to its very roots. The year 2004 saw an addition to the name of the parent company, which was now called MONTAVAR METALNA NOVA d.o.o., at the same time, the entire image of the company changed.
At the beginning of 2004, Montavar metalna nova d.o.o. became the 100% owner of the company MMHIDROMONT, expanding its offer in the hydro mechanical equipment market.
End of 2004 MONTAVAR metalna nova d.o.o. bought the business and production facilities of the bankrupted company Metalac Nikšič. After short sanitation of basic parts of production, the production has started over.

In year 2007 another expansion occurred when MONTAVAR metalna nova d.o.o. purchased »Center of manufacturing of the machine tools« (PC MAA), a part of holding LOLA in Serbia. Hereby MONTAVAR metalna nova d.o.o. acquired new capacities and competitive position of a whole system of MONTAVAR.
Major production facilities are now concentrated in three locations:

- Nikšic, Monte Negro
- Beograd-Železnik, Serbia

The system of MONTAVAR incorporates also with the company MONTAVAR PROJEKT LJ, for designing of hydro mechanical equipment and cranes.
The company, which at first had less than 30 employees, now employs nearly 770 people, and is one of the largest independent companies in Slovenia. However, the entire system of MONTAVAR employs nearly 1700 people.

The activities of the company encompass two major processes:
1. Design and manufacturing of machinery (with additional programs):
- program for manufacturing hydro mechanical equipment, turbine parts and equipment for thermal energy facilities,
- program for manufacturing pressure, processing and metallurgy equipment and machinery parts
- program for manufacturing components for transportation devices
2. Assembly activities (general electrical and mechanical assembly of energy and hydro facilities as well as processing equipment and machinery).
The company has established presence all around the world and it boasts good quality, timely deliveries and competitive prices.
