The company was founded in Cetinalp Nürtingen 1999. In 2000 the company moved into today's workshop to Frickenhausen - Tischardt. On 10.10.2001, the company Cetinalp structured into a GmbH.

The CeWOTec gGmbH (Chemnitz Materials and Surface Technology) is an industry-related research and services company for tribological coatings with thicknesses in the nanometer to millimeter (PVD, CVD, plasma CVD, plasma welding), heat treatment and surface zone conditioning (vacuum hardening, protective gas hardening, plasma nitriding) and with its own mechanical production for small to medium series mainly small-sized tools, construction and wear parts.
