The Saxonia Precious Metals GmbH is since the beginning of the 17th Century in the Freiberg region existing tradition of mining and processing of precious metals continues.
Already in 1612 the "hut on the Halsbrücker Spat" was founded.
1663 "Halsbrücker smelter" by the Saxon Elector was taken. Later it was renamed the "Royal smelter".
1861, it was then launched the gold refinery neck bridge.

Today, presents former subsidiary of Deutsche Nickel AG Technology Group in the core areas of precious metal recycling and processing as a recognized and reliable partner of the user industry. The Saxonia Holding consists of four manufacturing companies at two locations in Germany.
At the site Halsbrücke about 200 employees, and at the Pforzheim location employs about 150 workers.
