URBAN Metal was founded in 1982 as a supplier of the parent company URBAN GmbH & Co. Maschinenbau KG, based in Memmingen / Allgäu. Worldwide, the company employs approximately 650 employees.

In addition to supply parts for our main factory, we produce with our 110 employees in Austria CNC machining centers for the long part machining, bolting and produce all contract manufacturing parts both in wholesale and in small batches.

Cutting production:

Whether high-precision machined parts, weldments, sheet metal parts, aluminum castings or flame cutting parts, due to our high manufacturing depth and our well-equipped machinery, we are capable of all the parts for the highest standards, but to produce with short delivery times.

Motivated by the urgent need in our own production, we developed our CNC drilling and milling centers selbst.Mit much innovation and pioneering spirit arose among other things, our portal milling UP 10000 (image download).This self-constructed machine can handle workpieces up to a size of 10.000 x 2200 x 1500mm.
The experience gained thereby enable us this day special machines for special requirements as per customer to produce.

Locksmith:

With two welding robots and 8 manual welding stations we are well equipped to produce larger weldments. Our welders are certified according to EN 287-1.
Whether out of bent sheet metal parts, steel profiles or flame cutting parts up-we have everything under one roof.
Flame cut to 100mm thickness we can produce right in the house.
Our press brake can bend parts to a bending pressure of 110 t / m edit-which is about 12mm material thickness with a bending length of 4000mm.

Van Wijk Installation & Construction is a medium installation and construction company, and exists as a family business, now more than 110 years. Van Wijk started around 1900 as a village blacksmith and has over the years grown into a modern installation and construction company. Our installation department serves the complete mechanical installation of heating systems to solar panels. Our assembly and construction department is modern and dynamic. We specialize in creating, delivering and mounting of various structures and products.

Variel is a company with more than 40 years long tradition. Production plant was established in 1964 as a subsidiary of the then state enterprise Montážní podnik spojů Praha (Prague Telecommunications Installation Corporation). Company has been satisfying needs of large space shelters and covers for various technologies installation.

In 1985 were original technological huts completed by technological containers, designed mainly for installation of telecommunication technologies. Technological huts OPD and LB are delivered mostly for gas leading, water leading, energetic and railways systems distributors and providers.

Among of Variel products are also components for city public use as telephone booths, mailboxes, sell stands, bins, bus stops, railway stops, etc. Telephone booths and boxes have become integral part of all Czech towns and villages.

As a part of fibreglass production we realise (except standard production of children slides and assembling parts of other products) also special orders as bonnet parts for busses and trucks, TV antenna towers sheeting, etc. Newly exploited technology of fibreglass winding allows supplying of unique corpuses of railway transport vehicles.

Company has production plants as locksmith shop, material preparation hall with PC controlled enginery for cutting and bending, painting hall with modern painting boxes, fibreglass shop with equipment for injection fibreglass production and winding technology, assembling hall and its auxiliary shops as joiner and machining halls. There is for development of new products modern designing and constructing office.

We are a holder of certificates ISO 9001, ISO 14001 und big welding certificate.

The company is located on the outskirts of Zruč nad Sázavou. Train tracks lead to the company from a nearby station, thereby extending transportation possibilities for a town which lies about sixty kilometres south east of Prague, and five kilometres from highway D1 (connecting Brno to Prague).
