Made in Germany, more precisely in Sasbach at the foot of the Black Forest, we develop and manufacture test devices for worldwide use with a focus on small electrical machines. Our offer ranges from compact, semi-automatic armature and stator testers to fully automatic test systems for integration into complete production lines in the automotive environment.

Mechanical production
In order to be able to guarantee that the production processes run smoothly, GDG relies on high-tech solutions in production. A direct network with the construction, permanent access to 3D and 2D data ensure maximum flexibility.Order preparation, production planning, capacity planning, deadline monitoring and quality assurance are all paperless.

For fast and flexible production, GDG not only has highly efficient machines, but also relies on flexible, qualified and committed employees. A rotating system systematically turns all employees into all-rounders. The field of activity of our industrial mechanics ranges from CNC programming and CNC manufacturing to assembly and commissioning.

Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM):
In 1969, we bought our first electrical discharge machine, which has been the foundation for our most important core capability. EDM very soon proved to be one of the promising new key technologies in metalworking. We have continually expanded our experience in die sinking and wire EDM and, these days, count ourselves amongst the leading contract manufacturers for precise metal machining. It is not the ten machines that we productively utilise every day that are getting us further, but the very high standards of our customers for surface quality and precision forming.
The advantages of EDM are: no mechanical stress to the metal piece, no limitations through hard metal grade or shape, high degree of machine autonomy, greater design possibilities at engineering level. Only an EDM-compatible design will profit from all EDM benefits – a piece of advice our customers will gladly follow.

Tungsten carbide working:

We have managed to form a solid base to work tungsten carbide parts efficiently by liaising intensively with the outstanding tungsten carbide manufacturer Metzger Ltd, Lotzwil/Switzerland, and by meeting the very high standards of our customers. We support our customers when it comes to choosing the right hard metal and the most suitable methods such as grinding and abrasion, polishing and extrude-honing and also provide the handling during and after the production process.
Only perfectly manufactured hard metal parts will convince the customer to pay a higher unit price.

Laser Machining:
As with EDM, we decided early (1986) to go with this new key technology. We have been using the Nd:YAG pulsed laser (LASAG) for laser welding, cutting, drilling, marking and laser cladding. The high power pulse and high beam quality melt or vaporise nearly all known materials. Lasering is used to produce microstructures and to connect highly challenging geometrical shapes by conduction welding.

The same rules apply as for EDM: only a laser-compatible design will be able to take advantage of all the benefits laser technology has to offer.

Our production program includes the production of precision turned, drilling and milled parts according to customer drawings, specifications and samples for diameters of up to 650 mm. Quality, flexibility and reliability are among the characteristics of our work.

We produce your parts individually or in series. We use the following materials: C45, ST52-3, 42CrMo4, 31CrMoV9, VA, cast iron, aluminum, plastic, hard fabric and other high-quality materials.

Only the best materials and the best equipment are used in every process step in our work. This allows you to fully rely on the quality of the end products.

For more than 80 years, the Wilhelm Sass cardan shaft factory has been involved in the construction of cardan shafts in the third generation of entrepreneurs.

Constant growth and increasing customer requirements made a completely new building necessary in 1999. Since then, you have found a highly qualified team in Stapelfeld in the east of Hamburg who meets your requirements for cardan shafts for all areas of application and branches of industry: for example conveyor technology, crane construction, printing machines, plastics industry, marine, rail vehicles, rolling mills, steelworks, construction machinery, agricultural engineering or lifting equipment.
