The cornerstone of the brand name C. Behrens was laid in 1858. The medium-sized family experienced an exciting and eventful company history.

Founding 19 Century
1858 Founded by Carl Behrens focusing shoe last production
1884-1900 Construction of a Leistenfabrik near the present-day terrain and expansion of production capacity with factory on the Hackel Masch

20 Century
1900-1920 Founded by Carl Behrens focusing shoe last production
Jr. 1910 takeover of the company by Carl Behrens
1920 establishment of branches and Model Workshops in the shoe centers in Europe
Jigs and fixtures - 1930 From the punching knife production out a separate application with tools developed
1950 Construction of special machines for cutting, punching and embossing
1955 Construction of a revolving cutting press with hand lever operation for sheet metal processing
1961 Construction of Turret punch press with magazine and coordinate table
1964 First numerically controlled Turret punch press with 20 tons.Punching force
1971 First NC - controlled Turret punch press with automatic loading and unloading
1979 Presentation of the first punch laser combination machine at EMO in Milan
70 expansion in tool and fixture, first tools for the automotive industry
Change in the shoe last production from raw material of wood on plastic
Production of metal shoe lasts (aluminum bars) and forms for the footwear industry towards direct
80s-90s Continuous expansion of three divisions: Engineering (in particular laser cutting technology with "Flying Optic") shoe mold (use of CAD / CAM technology and 4-axis milling machines) tooling (stamping and trimming tools for the automotive industry)
1992 sale of the company to the Greiffenberger Holding
1997 of the company and setting of mechanical engineering restructuring, establishment of C. Behrens tooling and Service GmbH

2000 Acquisition of a 5 - axis milling machine including HSC modern CAD / CAM workstations shoe mold production
Acquisition of the latest EDM technology for punching tools
2001 Takeover of the company by Dr. Carl Behrens, a great-grandson of the company founder
2002 investment to a 400. Try-out press
Completion of the digital process chain in the shoe mold making through modeling software "Freeform"
